Any reviews for Mekong River Cruises in Vietnam?
I’m looking into going on a 3-day river cruise on either the Bassac or le Cochinchine in February. If anybody has been on either cruise, would love to hear about your experience so that I may plan accordingly.
Absolutely fantastic. After living in Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City for several months, the river cruise was fantastic, eye opening, and relaxing. The food was excellent, and so much of the countryside could be seen this way. It was a much better way to see the countryside than through hot crowded tour bus windows.
The food was great.
As far as a lot of mosquitos, the boats were moving too fast. Mosquitos are bad in vietnam, and I was very worried that on the boat things would be terrible. I’m not sure if I got bitten at all.
February will be near the beginning of the hot and rainy season, so, dress accordingly.
